May is another very shallow library month for Paramount+. We once held them high as our example to Disney+ of how to provide missing library. That doesn’t apply anymore. Library series rarely arrive. For the 4th month in a row, Nickelodeon library is completely ignored. There is one Nick Jr library series coming at the end of the month, Santiago of the Sea. There are also 2 AwesomenessTV series (T@gged and Zac & Mia) which are also available on Netflix.
Those 3 titles are absolutely it for library series with the rest of May’s content being a bunch of original reality / competition series and the usual monthly rotating slate of library films that comes courtesy the Epix deal.
For some bizarre reason, Paramount+ and HBO Max do not list original series episodes after they premiere. This is a rare example of Disney+ doing something better with their press releases. The Picard finale, Halo finale, and iCarly episodes are not listed, but we’ve got you covered and have added them in.
Staff Picks:
May still has PLENTY of highlights if you like Originals. There is a BRAND NEW Star Trek series, Strange New Worlds, which premieres along with the finales of Halo and Picard. We’re huge fans of iCarly so we’ll give that series a staff pick distinction as well. Finally, a new western series, Joe Pickett, premieres May 15. Paramount in Year 2 has adopted the Disney+ Year 2 strategy where they ignore the library and solely focus on originals. Why these companies can’t figure out a balance, we don’t understand.
