If you’ve been paying attention the past few years, you’ve noticed that Netflix and Hulu have lost a lot of the licensed content they once relied upon to keep subscribers engaged. As every major studio launches their own streaming services, they often decide to remove their content from competitors. Every few months it seems like another longterm library deal ends and Hulu loses another handful of series or films. Most recently, the Hulu / Epix white label deal came to an end on March 24th and hundreds of MGM and Paramount films that had been sublicensed from Epix left Hulu.
Now, it’s time for more to go.
We’re here to let you know that deals with IMAX and CBS have just come to an end.
IMAX
In June 2020, Hulu signed a deal with IMAX to broadcast 16 documentaries. In November 2021, Disney+ began their own deal that saw the MCU films upgraded to IMAX versions. We’ve yet to see any of Disney’s other IMAX films get this benefit, but we hope to see that soon. The Hulu contract was for 2 years and it expires tomorrow, June 11th. 12 films were set to leave, but 1, Hail Columbia!, left early. The remaining 11 to go tomorrow are as follows:

CBS / Showtime
Later this fall, Comcast will remove an unknown amount of NBC / Universal titles from Hulu. In some cases, the series will remain, but they will no longer stream next-day episodes. The transition to Peacock will speed up. All that on the table, we now know that another major network is coming to the end of their contracted period. Paramount Global is removing many classic CBS shows to give Paramount+ a larger selection of exclusive titles. Over the past year they’ve removed all the Star Trek shows from Hulu and Netflix with the final one left on Netflix, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, leaving July 1.
Today, numerous CBS / Showtime titles left Hulu and over the next fews weeks, more will follow. Here is the full breakdown on all the CBS shows that left today:

- Australia’s Next Top Model (2005) – No longer streamable in USA
- The Brady Bunch (1969) – Now a Paramount+ exclusive
- Flashpoint (2008) – Now a Paramount+ exclusive
- The Guardian (2001) – Now a Paramount+ exclusive
- The Lucy Show (1962) – Still available on Prime Video, Roku, Crackle, Vudu, Pluto TV, and Tubi
- Melrose Place (1992) – Available on Paramount+ and Pluto TV
- The Odd Couple (1970) – Now a Paramount+ exclusive
- Taxi (1978) – Available on Paramount+ and Pluto TV
- Wings (1990) – Now a Paramount+ exclusive
Showtime Content Gone June 10
- Brotherhood (2006) – Now a Showtime exclusive
- Penn & Teller: Bullshit! (2003) – Now a Showtime exclusive
- United States of Tara (2009) – Now a Showtime exclusive
In addition to those titles, the next few weeks will see another batch of content leave. This includes the Dr. Seuss and Peanuts / Snoopy franchise titles distributed by CBS and the mega-hit series, Criminal Minds.

All of those films and specials were Hulu exclusives so we hope they join Paramount+ quickly. Finally, a big CBS title is leaving on July 1st. Criminal Minds, one of the most binged series every year is becoming a Paramount+ exclusive. It also leaves Netflix June 30th.
