National Geographic has announced their annual SharkFest programming and this year Disney+ gets to swim in the deep end! The first 4 Fridays in July will see brand new shark specials and series added to Disney+ the same week they air on Nat Geo!
After impressing during the 2021 Sundance Film Festival, National Geographic acquired the distribution rights to Australian documentary Playing With Sharks (2021) and it will be premiering July 23rd as a Disney+ Original film.
Synopsis: From National Geographic Documentary Films and two-time Emmy®-nominated director Sally Aitken, “Playing with Sharks” captures the life of Valerie Taylor—a woman ahead of her time whose life’s work has become the basis for much of what we know about sharks today.
